Emerging Entrepreneurs Institute

About EEI

The Emerging Entrepreneurs Institute (EEI) is an initiative of the Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce.  EEI is a leadership institute designed to develop a culture of entrepreneurship among local high school students in the Baton Rouge area.  Through a series of intense development activities over a four-year period, EEI fellows will be positioned to enter college with a focus of entrepreneurship so that once they complete their college education, they will be fully prepared to create or lead an entrepreneurial enterprise that will have a positive impact on the Baton Rouge community.

Participants enter EEI the summer following their freshman year of high school and will be part of a life-long fellowship of leaders impacting their community in a revolutionary way.

Performance Tracking

Upon entrances into the EEI, students work towards a plan for their business and education goals.  Students are tracked for their progress on each while in the fellowship, in college, and upon completion of college in order to document the success of the program and its participants.  This allows us to ensure real time assessment and improvement of the program.
